Art, Dresses & Giant Spiders

Today was one of those really good days, filled with exciting things from start to finish...
I met up with the lovely Malin from E.MallaS. (mallasockertopp) in town to discuss some exciting plans together.

She designs the most fab frocks so I'm really looking forward to collaborating with her...
Here is just one of her lovely dresses...

So after that I went off to meet one of my favourite people and checkout the Louise Borgeois exhibition at Moderna Museet (Museum of Modern Art)
You can't help but see her giant spider as you go in...

... and I wondered, 'is it all going to be giant scary things?'
But no, it was very boobs, penisy, guts and bodily thingsish and I must confess that I didn't really like it all that much. But here a few 'high lights' as such...

After checking out all that weirdness we walked around the rest of the Museum and looked at all sorts, I didn't see much I liked but there were a few things that caught my eye...

This weird hole thing gives my friend the horrors, it's like a giant wasp nest or something worse...

But the real show stopper was this enormous piece by Swedish artist Miriam Bäckström called
'Smile as if we have already won'. From 2012.

It totally took my breath away, not at first glance but when I started to see the people in the mirrored chaos and then when I read that it was a tapestry woven from cotton, lurex, silk and wool I was just blown away.

It is so ambitious but it totally pulls it off...worth going there just to see this!
